Laprisha sets the strategic direction, and establishes and maintains strategic partnerships for DWEJ. She is responsible for disrupting and dismantling the status quo that leads to Detroiters bearing the undue burden of environmental hazards that ultimately impact their quality of life. She has over 15 years of experience as an MPH, MSW (Public Health Social Worker). She works to co-develop, implement and evaluate efforts focused on strategies to eliminate environmental health disparities in Detroit.

Community Engagement and Education Lead

Charlotte develops outreach and education programs that increase awareness about environmental injustice and how it impacts health and well-being. Charlotte is a certified Community Health Worker who develops, leads and implements individual and group health education and resource coordination efforts for families dealing with environmental health issues in Detroit.

Andrew (They/He) is an Anti-Zionist Ashkenazi Jew living in Wawiyaatanong (so-called Detroit). Their background includes helping to build healthy, sustainable, self-determined communities through supporting Black liberation and Indigenous sovereignty work as an artist, thinker, and activist. As the Climate and Energy Justice Lead at DWEJ they strive to practice principled and  holistic approaches to environmental justice issues in Detroit. 

Anetha Walker

Anetha Walker
Energy Efficiency Program Associate

Anetha provides oversight for programs that help households increase energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and realize savings. She coordinates, administers and delivers residential energy efficiency programs and related in-home education. Anetha has completed numerous trainings on how to improve the built environment including weatherization and carpentry.

Kirsten Beyer

Kirsten is responsible for helping households become more energy efficient so families can reduce their energy burden and carbon footprint and increase the comfort and safety of their homes. Kirsten’s unique perspective from years of nonprofit work and yoga training is applied in her work at DWEJ.

Fundraising and Communications

Tamar Cloyd

Tamar Cloyd
Consultant

Tamar is the principal consultant of The Antidote LLC, a fundraising and communications firm that supports nonprofits in fulfilling their mission. Tamar’s commitment to social justice and environmental stewardship, combined with her education and training as a community social psychologist, contributes to her success leading DWEJ’s communication and fundraising efforts.
